We will see if we can do something like that with Kai.Yujihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17025841543342602157noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4687526100634149438.post-66877550713014792792012-03-21T18:14:40.609-05:002012-03-21T18:14:40.609-05:00What I had done to control my tics when I was youn...What I had done to control my tics when I was young was to shift the compulsion to a socially acceptable one. I squeezed a ball of paper I carried around (no squeeze balls around then). I had many verbal and physical tics. I had combined them into tension release through my hands via the ball of paper. Just an idea to have Kai try. When I started training my body through exercise...all of my tics abated.Shiroi Torahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05869506932268171410noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4687526100634149438.post-60476250580502639462012-03-20T15:17:50.001-05:002012-03-20T15:17:50.001-05:00Betsy,

And now days, with so many colors, they must have someone very creative assigning the names.

Yes, it's nice that Kai can control his tics. I wish it would become a habit so that when he has earned all the crayons, he still would have it under control, but I'm not holding my breath on that.

No luck with the melatonin. I think the warmer weather is effecting his sleep negatively.Yujihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17025841543342602157noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4687526100634149438.post-73013564325169054802012-03-20T10:37:54.863-05:002012-03-20T10:37:54.863-05:00Oh I was the same with the crayons! I remember thinking it was so cool that the box had a sharpener on the back. My favorite thing was to look at the names of the colors. Mignight Blue, Magenta, being two of my very favorites. :) By the time my younger sister came along, they had scented ones.

Good for Kai being able to control those tics. That is amazing, really. I'm glad you've hit upon a wonderful incentive for him. There is an older man that comes to the auctions when I work. He has a throat-clearing tic. I can see how that would get on your nerves...and the snorting, too.

Any luck with the melatonin?Betsy Brockhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06807795605763246015noreply@blogger.com
