Even More Frozen

I woke up this morning and our house was cooler than it usually is. Uh oh.

Sure enough, I discovered that our main furnace was not working.

I called the company that maintained our furnace in the past, and they said that the soonest they could come out was Thursday. Apparently, we were not the only ones with furnace issues.

Well, two more days without heat was not going to cut it. Kai did not mind, though. After all, the iPad still worked!

I called around some more, and found someone to come out today. Our heat is back on.

Even better, it looks like the worst of cold is over for now. Today the temperature got above zero to six degrees. Heat wave!

And best of all, it looks like schools will reopen tomorrow after an extended winter break. My wife is rejoicing at that news.

Hope you all were able to stay warm.

  1. I'm so glad you got it fixed the same day! Yay! Although Kai sure looks cute in that hat! We're supposed to reach 31 degrees tomorrow so I suspect our boys will go back tomorrow, too. I agree with your wife. It's now time! haha. I was fine until yesterday. Now I'm done with the Christmas break. lol....

    1. Christmas break is nice, to a point. I think that mothers all over the midwest are celebrating the end of winter break, at last! Ha!

  2. Indoor camping! Incidents like that are an adventure for children. At least the most important piece of equipment was working (at least according to Kai) :)

    1. Haha, yes, it would have been a catastrophe if we had heat but no electronics. :)

  3. It's usually around that time of the year when people's furnaces conk out; that's why HVAC people are quite busy and have long queues. Though it's great that you were able to find someone that could take a look at it on such short notice. This should keep you guys warm through the upcoming winter. Just make sure to check it every once in a while, just to be safe. Good luck!
