Looking for More Pokémon in Chicago

We took advantage of another beautiful weekend by going into Chicago to hunt for more Pokémon. We didn't have any dogs this weekend so Mom was able to join us this time.

Our destination this time was Navy Pier, along Chicago's lakefront.

We started finding Pokémon right away.

And we continued to find them while we walked up and down the pier. This was definitely one of our most fruitful days, Pokémon-wise. Kai had a great time!

And so did my wife and I. Between the sunshine and the great view, it was a perfect day for nice walk.

Besides hunting for Pokémon, we rode on the ferris wheel. It wasn't quite as high as the one we rode on in Yokohama, but we still had a great view of Chicago, and it was high enough to make Kai nervous.

And so we had a very nice Sunday. Hope yours was nice, too.

  1. How did you get that Pokemon in the photo?

It looked to be a very nice day in Chicago. That last picture really seems to show Kai with a mature and mellow demeanor. I hope all of you also had a really nice end of the day meal. I bet the restaurants are very nice in Chicago.

    1. Shiroi, the technology behind Pokémon Go is really quite amazing. When you see a Pokémon in the game, you can switch to Augmented Reality (AR) mode to “see” it in real life. I have the app on my phone too so I can play along with Kai, and take these pictures when we see Pokémon, when we’re not too busy trying to catch the Pokémon anyway. 

We had lunch on Navy Pier before heading home. There are many places to choose from, both sit down restaurants and quick service places. Kai wanted tacos so he and my wife got food from a Mexican takeout stand while I got fried chicken from a different place and then we got a table together. Chicago has many places but we chose out of convenience this time but we were satisfied.

  2. That looks like a lot of fun! Gorgeous day and place to be! Everyone looks happy!

  3. Beautiful photos! Looks like a great time. :)

  4. Beautiful photos! Looks like a great time. :)

    1. Yes, we had a marvelous time! Thanks, Linda!
