My son has read about Autism and knows he is in the spectrum. We talked to him about it several years ago. He seemed to not care one way or the other. We emphasized that whatever his deficits...we will constantly work on them while concentrating on his strengths.
By the way...I really haven't had the other talk yet. We will be getting him books on the subject soon. He sees the whole process as a genetic one right now. He has asked how the genes meet...we just said that we will get him some books on it later...I know...cowardly :)
